What is the difference between Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpretation?
Consecutive interpreters take turns speaking with the other participants. Consecutive interpreters are more appropriate for conversations or meetings between individuals or small groups. Examples might include doctor’s appointments, interviews, client meetings, and generally making life accessible to people who need interpreters.
Simultaneous interpreters interpret at the same time as the speakers, keeping pace with the speakers using specialized equipment to share that interpretation with participants who need interpreters. Simultaneous interpreters are more appropriate for situations that involve larger groups, public speaking, or public facing events. Examples might include workshops or conferences, worship services, graduations, and other larger events.
Can you support meetings, trainings, and large events?
Yes. We support everything from one-on-one interactions to public meetings and high-attendance events. For long or complex events, we will provide team interpreters when it is appropriate.
